Are you interested in filmmaking or the Vancouver film scene? Thinking about taking your skills to the next level? Do you want to start a career in film or television? This Bootcamp is for you.
InFocus Film School’s Summer Film Bootcamp introduces you to three main pillars of film: directing, cinematography, and editing. In just one week you will learn the basics of shot selection and storytelling as a director, how to operate a DSLR camera to shoot video, and how to edit a short film project in Adobe Premiere. Use these skills to create a short silent film project to showcase your talent and include in their portfolios.
This introductory course gives students a taste of filmmaking. Students will learn shot sizes and selection; three-act structure in storytelling; how to create and implement shotlists; cinematography principals such as exposure, lens use, and white balance; operation of DSLR cameras to shoot video; and video editing in Adobe Premiere.
Students will create a 2-3 minute silent film project to demonstrate and showcase the skills taught.
